American Heroes Memorial Day Salute to the Armed Forces

Jeff Gordon’s #24 DuPont Chevrolet had a special color scheme for the Coca-Cola 600 to show support for U.S. troops and their families.  The car featured Department of Defense (DoD) colors of blue, gold and red and included an “America Supports You” logo on the hood. 

“America Supports You" is a DoD-backed program that recognizes citizens' support for U.S. military men and women and communicates that support to members of the Armed Forces. 

Other NASCAR drivers participated in this effort, including Greg Biffle, Ward Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin, Shane Huffman, Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin, Casey Mears and Jon Wood.  NASCAR team owners, sponsors, drivers and employees donated the space on their cars. 

The American Heroes Memorial Day Salute kicked off a nationwide campaign to help raise funds for military families in need.
