Body Armor Testing

Ballistic armor testing is a sophisticated task requiring specialized expertise. It can also be dangerous.

Your body armor should never be shot at without adequate knowledge of proper and safe test procedures. Personal injury may result. Armor should be tested by an NIJ-certified laboratory as per current NIJ Standard for "Ballistic Resistance of Police Body Armor" and NIJ Stab Standard. DuPont has built state-of-the-art testing facilities in Richmond, Virginia, and Geneva, Switzerland. They are used to support law enforcement by developing new technologies, assisting body armor manufacturers in designing solutions to meet users' changing needs and maintaining an extensive database.
