The current issue of FORTUNE magazine highlights Diane Gulyas, group vice president, DuPont Performance Materials as a global mentor in its "The global mentor match-up" article.

DuPont invited Suma Krishnaswamy, a 42-year-old entrepreneur from Bangalore, India, to shadow a high-level female executive for several weeks.  Krishnaswamy, who runs a 25-person biotech company called Cambium Biotechnologies, was matched up with Diane Gulyas.

To help Krishnaswamy reach her goals -- to create products that cater to the health-care market and to increase crop yields through modern and traditional cultivation methods -- she spent two weeks with Diane at the DuPont Experimental Station in Wilmington, Del.  DuPont Executive Vice President Ellen Kullman and Uma Chowdhry, senior vice president and chief science and technology officer, also spent time with Krishnaswamy while she was in Wilmington.

"Watching this young woman in meetings with our CEO, I realized that there must be untapped young talent at DuPont," Diane said.
