An independent panel of some of Australia and New Zealand’s most respected business and academic leaders has named 20 finalists in the 2007/2008 DuPont Australia and New Zealand Innovation Awards.

Judged across seven categories, the biennial awards recognize innovation and advances in industry, science, agriculture and the environment.   This year, the awards attracted a record 98 entries from companies and individuals.

“Because innovation is so important to us, we look for new discoveries and inventions wherever we operate,” said Hutch Ranck, managing director, DuPont Australia and New Zealand. “Innovation has made us a strong, creative company that provides solutions on a global scale.”

Australia National University was announced the winner of DuPont Australia and New Zealand’s most prestigious Innovation Award, the Chairman’s Award, for its second generation sliver cell technology. Awarded by DuPont CEO and Chairman Chad Holliday, it is the highest accolade from the biennial awards.
