In 1994, DuPont launched its Crop Protection business in Vietnam.  Since then, DuPont expanded operations to bring more high-quality raw materials and products for supplying local manufacturing customers in many key industries in Vietnam.  Some of the industries include: agriculture, footwear, packaging, automotive, construction and refrigeration.   DuPont has two legal entities in Vietnam – DuPont Far East Inc. and DuPont Vietnam Limited. 

The Crop Protection plant in Song Than Industrial Park was certified International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and ISO 14001 in 2000 and 2004, respectively. 

DuPont key businesses in Vietnam are Packaging & Industrial Polymers, Engineering Polymers, Titanium Technologies and Crop Protection.  DuPont Vietnam has 86 employees and contractors at three operating sites -- in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and the Song Than plant.

Milestones

• 1994  DuPont Far East Inc. was established in Ho Chi Minh City.
• 1998  DuPont Vietnam Ltd. was established with Crop Protection, which purchased the CPP
            plant in the Binh Duong province. 
• 2007  DuPont Vietnam Ltd. established an office in Hanoi.
• 2008  Vietnam expanded its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City.  In May, Pioneer Hi-Bred Vietnam Ltd. was granted an investment certificate to start the seed business in Vietnam.
